We were SO excited to have Ms. Maureen here to read to us!!! We celebrated by having cookies and juice, and giving Ms. Maureen our special cards!
These pictures were taken at our all school field trip to "The Museum of Science and Industry". This is just the small group of friends I had during the trip.
Our Kindergarten friends did such a great job performing the visit of Our Lady of Guadalupe! We had practiced for two weeks each day! We love getting up in front of our classmates! ☺️
Fr. Dan came to talk to our class and the 8th graders about Our Lady of Guadalupe. Every year, Kindergarten and 8th grade get together, and perform the visit of Our Lady.
We have a guest reader from our Board that comes to read to us often! She came to share a Halloween story with us today!! We are SO greatful to Ms. Maureen for hanging with us, and reading to us!!! We love our time with her!!
We have been learning about counting and showing how many. Today we counted to box 5, then switched to add MORE! Come back and see how far we can count!!
This week our story was "Stand Tall Molly Lou Melon". We learned what good readers look for while reading a book! Then we went in our "Quiet Sticky Spots", and practiced reading to ourselves. We read (or looked at the pages) for 2 minutes! We are hoping to make it to 5 minutes by the end of this week!!!
In Kindergarten we teach in a "Workshop" model. We have a "READING WORKSHOP", "MATH WORKSHOP", and "WRITING WORKSHOP" . We use this model because we teach the children as a whole group, they go out and practice it at as a whole group, then they go into CENTERS and work with partners on their learning. The next couple of months, we will be working on different stories that will teach us all the skills we need to get into 1st grade. Take a look at what we will be working on from now until Christmas break....
